Running fast only hurts if you’re doing it incorrectly

--

Today’s German Olympic games television broadcast featured an interesting interview with German track and field star and 2022 100m sprint European Champion Gina Lückenkemper.

In the interview she discussed some of the incredible subleties of running technique.

Most notably she quoted her coach: “Running fast only hurts if you’re doing it incorrectly”. She confirmed that she has painfully made this experience in her own career.

Even the more amateur athletes among us can take away from this that focusing on technique (vs. number of repetitions or other metrics) is always worth it — for the sake of longevity, health and improved performance.
