No problem to solve
Different people respond to different meditation styles. My personal journey started with the austerity of Sōtō Zen, has since traversed the landscapes of Ramana Maharshi style contemplation and has most recently landed in the sphere of Dzogchen as it is taught by Sam Harris and Loch Kelly.
The latter in particular has had a profound impact on my practice most notably during a retreat in Costa Rica earlier this year.
Today I want to highlight a meditation of his that has been meaningful to me (you can find it in his excellent app Mindful Glimpses).
And that is simply to ask you, the reader to contemplate:
What is here now when there is no problem to solve?
Everything that we need to know about ourselves can be gleaned by simply asking this question with an open heart and being curious about what arises as a result.
