Bitcoin game theory
On December 10, Microsoft shareholders will vote on potentially purchasing Bitcoin as a reserve asset for the company’s treasury.
While this particular vote is unlikely to be successful, it is a sign of the increasing acceptance and maturity of Bitcoin as an asset class.
What most people don’t understand is that there is a certain inevitability to the game theory here. Even if Microsoft decides to not invest this time around, there are a lot of companies out there that have a lot less to lose from trying it.
It is all but certain, that another CFO will realize that their decision to invest alone can have a massive positive impact on the price of Bitcoin and thus their balance sheet.
The same is true for nation states. After El Salvador and Bhutan, we will inevitably see a larger country invest soon… and reap the benefits.
More and more leaders have their backs against the wall in the face of growing debt and inflation. And those that are creative will realize that Bitcoin is an increasingly derisked solution.
